Yurt: Earthen Floor Part 5

Well, it's been a long time since my last update.  The earthen floor is still not fully dried.  We still have it tarped to protect it from rain.  It cracked again, a lot.  We still think probably too much water when we poured the last layer (too much rain the night before and it rained on us while pouring the last layer) and possibly not enough sand in the mix.

The pattern of cracking is interesting.  It may end up looking like flagstone with grouting after we've patched it and that's fine by us.

Extensive cracking throughout the floor.

We will be patching it soon, hopefully.  It looks like we'll be putting our yurt up before the floor gets treated with the boiled linseed.  But, we'll have time to treat it before we need to move stuff into it.

We put 12 concrete screws through the bender board into the concrete grade beam a few days back.  (This screw is not all the way in yet.)

Meanwhile the well is being drilled this week with a brand new bit.  Hopefully that will go smoothly.  Activity will begin picking back up next week, stay tuned.
